乌达瓦塔克勒曾经是康提国王保留的皇家森林，现在是观鸟者的天堂，拥有巨大的藤本植物、池塘和森林修道院，距离市中心仅几分钟路程。沿着安静的小径，可以看到猕猴、巨松鼠和数十种鸟类。

Known in the Kandyan era as 'the forbidden forest of the king', it was protected as a sanctuary in 1856 and remains one of the oldest reserves in the country.
